Bookkeeper – West Palm Beach, FL – $50k – $60k yr – (US Citizen or Green Card Only)
Our client is an AV rated litigation law firm in West Palm Beach. Home to one of Florida’s Super Lawyers. The firm is currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented bookkeeper to join the team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in bookkeeping and possess a basic understanding of accounting principles. Successful candidates will be responsible for handling various financial tasks derived from the firm’s day-to-day operations, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process and manage invoices, payments, and expenses. Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliation of all firm bank accounts, including IOTA accounts, to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Incoming Funds: Record and deposit incoming funds from clients and other sources. Accurately post transactions into the accounting system.
- Billing: Prepare and issue invoices to clients in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client agreements.
- Financial Reporting: Generate various financial reports as needed by the partners.
- Data Entry and Maintenance: Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant accounting standards and legal requirements.
- Accounting Software: Utilize accounting software packages proficiently to perform bookkeeping tasks efficiently.
- Communication: Collaborate with other team members, including accountants and management, to provide financial information and support.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in bookkeeping or related financial roles.
- Familiarity with IOTA accounting is required.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in using accounting software packages (e.g., QuickBooks, PerfectLaw, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within the team.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive financial information with discretion.
- Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
Salary and Benefits: The salary for this position ranges from $52,000 to $65,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to the competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
Our benefits are as follows for full-time employees who pass the 3 month probationary period.
Health Insurance: The Firm offers Health Insurance through a “Health Reimbursement Agreement” Program (“HRA”). Basically, the employee is responsible for selecting his/her individual health plan and the Firm agrees to pay the employee’s monthly insurance premium. The premium amount is based on the participant’s age. The Firm does not pay for out of pocket expenses other family members. Those expenses are the employee’s responsibility.
Investment Plan: Employees are eligible to participate in the Firm’s Simple IRA Investment Plan with up to 3% salary match depending on employee’s annual contribution.
Paid Time Off: The company provides to each hourly post probationary staff member seven (7) personal/sick days and eight (8) vacation days annually (a total of 3 weeks paid time off). Vacation days are accrued bi-weekly at a rate of 2.46 hours and 2.15 hours for sick/personal time. It is expected that you will not use sick or vacation time during your 90-day probation period. However, we understand that illness and emergencies can occur anytime and in such instances, any time taken for which you have no time accrued will be uncompensated. Additionally, accrued time taken must be approved by the assigned attorney and office manager.
