As a Senior Design Project Engineer, you will participate in the design and the development required for Taylor Valve Technology products. The responsibility level for this position requires being solely responsible and accountable for the design, documentation and qualification of custom parts and assemblies for new product from project start to manufacturing, with continued support after manufacturing begins. This includes establishing and meeting project schedule and costing objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•      Component level part design
•      Simple mechanical assembly design
•      Complex mechanical assembly design
•      Evaluation/selection of mechanical components
•      Troubleshoot mechanical design issues during development and after production start
•      Perform prototype design experimentation
•      Perform mechanical design qualification testing
•      Complete and release design documentation
•      Updating design packets for CE-PED/CRN/API/ASME/ISO audits ?    Write test plans for mechanical design qualification & validation ?    Create and maintain BOM, ECRs, ECNs, Routings etc.
•      Assist parts & tooling vendors, coordination with molder, welder, QA/QC, buyers etc.

Preferred Knowledge/Technical Skills

•      Advanced knowledge of Safety Relief Valve designs
•      Advanced knowledge of mechanical design codes and principles as per ASME/API/ANSI requirements
•      Advanced knowledge of code and standards such as API/ASME/ANSI/CE-PED/CRN/ISO etc.
•      Advanced knowledge of mechanical assembly technologies (welding, adhesives, etc.)
•      Advanced knowledge of SolidWorks & other mechanical CAD design tools such as AUTO CAD/DraftSight/Inventor
•      Advanced experience with mechanical testing equipment
•      Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Visual ERP Software

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
